Curriculum Enrichment

At Penistone Grammar School, we believe that providing curriculum enrichment opportunities for our students is essential for their academic and personal growth. That's why we offer a variety of programs and activities that go beyond the traditional classroom, to help our students discover their passions and interests.

One of the ways we provide curriculum enrichment is through our Poetry Day Activity during Mentor Time. This event provides students with the opportunity to explore and appreciate the literary arts, and to express themselves creatively.

We also offer after-school enrichment and intervention sessions across the majority of subjects. These sessions provide students with additional support and the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the subject matter. For those who need extra support, we have a home learning support club available, to provide additional guidance and resources.

Our PE department offers sports activities after school, which give students the chance to explore their interests in a healthy and active way, while also promoting teamwork and a sense of community. These activities also give students the opportunity to pursue sports that may not be offered during the regular school day.

We also offer a variety of visits, such as a Geography field trip and a history trip to Thackary Medical Museum, which expose students to real-world examples and help students connect with the material in a new way. These experiences help students to make deeper connections between their learning and the world around them.

We strive to provide our students with a well-rounded education by offering a variety of curriculum enrichment opportunities. These programs and activities are designed to inspire and engage our students, helping them to discover their passions and interests, and to become well-informed and well-rounded individuals.
