Welcome to our Post 16 Centre

Post-16 Enrolment Arrangements

Please find below details of the arrangements for Post-16 enrolment. You should have also received this information in a letter.

PGS Students – Thursday 20 August (after collection of GCSE results)

After you have collected your GCSE results, Mr Stevens would be delighted to meet you at the back of the sports hall to complete the Post-16 enrolment process. If you require any further enrolment support, such as a change of subject, Mr Stevens will direct you to the Dance Studio to meet with Mrs Rostern or Ms Crossland who will be able to help you further.

Non-PGS Students – Thursday 20 August and Friday 21 August

After you have collected your GCSE results on the morning of Thursday 20 August, a member of the Post-16 team will telephone you either on the afternoon of Thursday 20 August (from 12 noon) or on the morning of Friday 21 August (from 9am). The purpose of the telephone call is to congratulate you on your GCSE results and to complete the Post-16 enrolment process, which will include an opportunity to discuss your subject choices.

After you have enrolled, your Post-16 Welcome Pack will be sent by post. This contains everything you need to ensure a smooth start with us. If you have changed your telephone number or moved house since you completed your application form, or you have any specific requests such as times you are available, then please email post16@penistone-gs.uk

Start of Year Arrangements

The first day of the academic year for Year 12 is Wednesday 2 September; you should aim to arrive at the Post-16 Centre between 8.00-8.20am. Our intention is that Year 12 will commence full time face-to-face lessons from this date.

Further information on the start of year arrangements will be found in your Post-16 Welcome Pack.

Post 16 Transition Work

Please find below a link to the transition resources for students entering Year 12 in September. The aim of these resources is to support students with the transition between GCSEs and A Levels and to prepare them for when their studies begin. Resources are already available for many Post 16 subjects and there will be resources for ALL subjects by June 15th at the latest. We strongly advise prospective Post 16 students to download and complete the resources for each of the subjects they intend to study from September.
